Focus Program
May 23, 2019
It has been an incredible year in which we saw 48 students reach their goal of graduation! We are going to miss this wonderful group of young people, but look forward to seeing what they do in the next chapter of their lives. For those who will be back next year have a great summer!

A few months ago our students helped create a video extolling the virtues of Odysseyware, our online learning platform. We are pleased to announce that our video was selected as one of the 19 nationwide finalists for an Educator Impact Award! We are extremely proud of our achievement and are looking forward to seeing if we will be chosen as the overall winner! The purpose of the Robertson County Focus Program is to provide a safe, welcoming, and motivating environment in order to assist non-traditional students in meeting and achieving graduation requirements and personal goals!
The Focus Program is a school of choice for students that are credit deficient. By coming to the Focus Program, students are able to receive a regular diploma by meeting minimum requirements as outlined by the TN State Board of Education and Robertson County Schools.
Students who choose to work at the Focus Program must be highly motivated. All coursework is completed utilizing computer software. The on-line platform also allows students to complete work at their own pace. Teachers are available to facilitate learning but students are largely responsible for their own learning. Daily attendance is imperative!
If a student is interested in pursuing a placement at the Focus Program, he/she will begin the process by meeting with a school counselor. If it is determined that the student meets eligibility requirements, a referral will be made to the Focus Program administrator.
Once graduation requirements are met, students are eligible to participate in a graduation ceremony. Winter graduates participate in a system-wide ceremony in January and spring graduates either participate in a May or August ceremony, depending on the date of program completion.
